"As If Natural"--The Essence Of Designing Of Soochow Traditional Gardens

This thesis elaborated the ideology and the design of "as if natural"' in Soochow traditional gardens. Based on it ,this thesis also studied the formation and the development of it and envisioned the development of it in the future.Firstly, this essay illustrated the embodiment of the notion of being natural ,the notien in the traditional Chinese philosophy ,in Soochow traditional garden. Secondly, this thesis studied the influence of the ideology of "as if natural" which Chinese traditional gardens had affected Soochow traditional gardens, and researched it deeply to elaborate the designing of gardens and the mood and atmosphere in Soochow traditional gardens, compared the difference between Soochow traditional gardens and the traditional gardens in Europe. Finally, it anticipated the prosperity of modern design of Soochow gardens, elaborated the essence of "as if natural" systematically of Soochow traditional gardens.
