A Basic Study On The Design Of Bathroom Facilities For The Aged People In Urban, China

Due to the trend of population's getting older has been an important social and design problem, which we must face at present and in future in our country. This article begins with the aged people's particularity and especial requirement, tries to bring people, facilities, and environment into a system, we choose sanitation and bath facilities as a clue to bring forward a some significant research and discussion.The improvement of people's living condition, especially the improvement of inhabitation requirement, has obviously indicated the requirements' variety and multiple levels for sanitation and bath in urban houses. In current social condition, the: change of living style, the change of family model, the change of living attitude have affected the requirement for sanitation and bath space and facilities. On the basis of analyzing sanitation and bath in economic, social and humanistic elements as well as functionality improvement, aim at the phenomena, problem and contradiction which exists in sanitation and bath for aged people in urban of our country, through researching and analyzing their physiological character, mental character, consumptive character and ways of life, and contrastively analyzing between the aged people and others, this article tries to scientifically forecast the direction of the aged people sanitation and bath facilities improvement, hold the changing trend, and based on the research result, scheme out the environment and facilities of sanitation and bath which is real of improvement in future and satisfied with the aged people. This article tries to analyses the elements from the view of design and some discussion on the design principle and method of the sanitation and bath for aged people in urban.
