The structure analysis of armored concrete (RC) is the subject that must be carried on in the engineering field. The traditional method is calculated by the simplified formula that is based on a large amount of experimental study. This simple calculating method is still of value so far for most routine design, whereas, it need to give more accurate analysis to some large-scaled, complicated RC structure.In recent years, with the development at full speed of the technology of the electronic computer, the finite element law in the structure analysis field has received extensive application. At the same time, the analysis of RC structure by finite element method becomes an important method in structure analysis. By using this method, it is not only all right to consider more material characteristic factors, but also to repeat the calculation by changing some parameter systematically. The calculating result can save a great deal of component experiment works, and offer a reliable basis for revision or making of the design specification. It is undoubtedly a very economic method to do this job by using computer because it can reduce the number of physical model and especially the RC structure model of large scale that is very costly, thus it can save a large amount of manpower and consumption of materials. ANSYS, the assistant software for project analysis, is a complicated knowledge-intensive software, whose function is extremely strong. It has already become quite intelligent CAE software and has strong analysis ability of finite element.This paper reviewed the principle and application of finite element analysis in RC structure, recommended the newly research development of non-linear finite element mathematics model in the world. Through the analysis of experimental study on the material and its basic knowledge of finite element, it explained the destruction criterion of the non-linear analytical model of RC. Combined with the specific characteristics of horizontal-flow tank RC, it carried three-dimensional finite element analysis on horizontal-flow tank RC structure by ANSYS. And it also gave the building method of entity model. Meanwhile, according to the application study of ANSYS in the plasticity analysis of RCstructure, this paper completed the scattering of finite element in entity model, stimulated the changing process of stress and strain under various kinds of load. So it provided a reliable basis for engineering design.
