This paper takes Xingdukou bridge as engineering background, which is under construction in Panzhihua, Si Chuan Province. According to three different methods, the stability of the bridge is analyzed during the most critical phase of arch boxes being hoisted and joined together, and also in different load cases . The results show that for reinforced concrete structures material nonlinearity should be considered in the analysis of the ultimate capacity, and single elastic analysis method can not be used for the design of structure. For reinforced concrete arch bridge, which dead load occupies a majority of its total load, live load has little influence on the stability of structure. But different setting methods of the live load can influence the value of eigenvalue .Meanwhile, the effect of different parameters such as the strength of concrete and in-plane initial curvature on stability analysis is considered. After that, the paper draws the conclusion about how the stability varies with the strength decrease of different parts of the structure and the change of support conditions of superstructure.During the course of seismic analysis, response spectrum method is used for the calculation of structural response to seismic excitation according to the code for seismic design of highway engineering. The results show that seismic force should be regarded as control load after considering the combination of multidirectional seismic response. At the same time, the change of the stiffness of arch ribs and support conditions of superstructure can also cause the change of internal force response of the structure.
