With the advancement of science and technology of power industry and its reform going on, companies have a higher technical demand on the on-line condition monitoring and automatic fault diagnosis system than ever. In this paper a demonstration platform for remote fault diagnosis system based on B/S model is built with the application of virtual instrument, network and database technology. The platform has mutual function which can help to upload data and spectrum chart to the database for uniform management. And it also provides support and download services to the user. Virtual instrument technology is applied to acquire the remote dynamic signals by the Internet and to process data analysis and data storage. A database is developed to deal with the dynamic signals. The database helps to reserve the test data so that the user can compare and analyze between fore-and-aft data.DataSocket technology is used to implement the remote data transmission. DataSocket can transmit data with most protocols,so it is convenient to share the data on the Internet.The virtual instrument demonstration system based on web is built. Take example for gathering a sound signal. The remote client can implement the process of data gathering, signal analysis and data storage. The process for the fault diagnosis experieced gathering, analysis and decision. Therefore, it is valuable to adopt virtual instrument.
