AutoCAD is widely used in bridge design as an aid tool. And ansys is becoming more and more commonly used in bridge calculation and analyze. Designers complete solution design, determining geometry, dimension and location of the structures and components, then carry on mechanics behavior analyze of the structures and components in ansys. In this method, design and calculation are separately processes--the data in AutoCAD can not be used in ansys. This will cause repetitious labor and losing of efficiency. It will save much unnecessary labor in engineering and improve productive efficiency, if we can find a method to transform the drawing data into ansys. Based on request of engineering application, this paper brings forward a new method which realizes integration of AutoCAD and ANSYS, and makes it easer for engineering designers to use ansys for analyzing bridge structure. The program discussed in this paper is developed in the environment of VisualC++, with ObjectARX and APDL as second development tool. The program includes four modules as follow:Tolerance processing.Extracting cross section data in AutoCAD, then transforms it into ansys.Extracting Truss bridge structure data in AutoCAD, then transforms it into ansys.Based on standard cross section, automatically generating cross sections of Rigid frame bridge, then transforms they into ansys.Interface design, make the operation of modeling more convenient.
