In recent years, the tunnel CAD technology has achieved great success, and the productivity has been greatly improved. However, it still lagged behind in some facet compared to foreign country and other industry in the domestic. First: Parametric technique has not been applyed thoroughly, some standardization parametric drawing module has not been set up completely. Second: The application range of the software is narrow, and the parametric design of most new structure style is not still be set up. Third: The degree of system integration is not enough, such as function and information of the software are not really integrated, and every system is not integrated in an economical and effective way. So, many repetitive input data and redundancy data exist. Fourth: Most actual CAD software lack in structural analysis function, and have not complex numerical analysis function, such as finite element method. In practice, this is a way which can increase design efficiency. Fifth: The development language is lower in rank, and it is more troublesome to manage and upgrade. Because of the shortages above, the tunnel CAD software of our country can not satisfy with the increasing design quantity.According to the shortages of tunnel CAD software mentioned above in our country, this thesis aims to discuss and study how to develop parametric design system with ObjectARX tool. The content includes establishment of user interface, how to visit and edit AutoCAD database, how to create graphic entity in AutoCAD system and so on. These problems will be introduced one by one in this thesis. At the same time, taking highway tunnel design as background, this thesis develops several parametric design modules as follows:1. Parametric drawing module. 2. Classification of surrounding rock of highway tunnel module. 3. Optimizing and drawing of highway tunnel profile module. 4. Surrounding rock pressure calculation module. 5. Internal force of highway tunnel liner calculation module. In all of that, internal force of the highway tunnel liner calculation module adopts object oriented programming method, and takes AutoCAD software as pretreatment and post-process tool, then, carries out the structural analysis function. Development of this module is an important part in this thesis.The program takes AutoCAD 2000 as operating plat, and introduces finite element method into AutoCAD system, then, carries out structural analysis and parametric drawing function in AutoCAD system. This is a try of tunnel CAD integration, and has some reference value to development of tunnel CAD software based on ObjectARX tool.
