| As the development of network, needs of network storage is becoming more and more important. The traditional storage solution and storage medium has its' limit obviously. So, the optical disk jukebox as a reasonable solution is researched by many people. The thesis is focuses on the jukebox controller based on Network Attached Storage (NAS), and give a design way.At the beginning, thesis brings forward NAS as the storage technology. Compared the NAS and Direct Attached Network (DAS) with NAS, we can draw a conclusion that NAS is much advantage than DAS. Next, we talked about the NAS and Storage Area Network (SAN), and give a combine way.To understand optical disk jukebox based on NAS well, thesis describes the other part besides controller. And reveal how controller to control the medium changer movement and so on.The thesis is talking about building a system with network file system and SCSI drive support based on NAS optical disk jukebox, and make a GUI software let administrator manage the system on web.The traditional storage operation system usually is Windows series that are expensive. We use the open source code Linux as our operation code that support network module and SCSI module.It starts with building a system structure which is a retrenched Linux kernel. Then, write the system into a 64M Disk On Chip. Loaded SCSI drive module, modifies some kernel drive. Next, the thesis describes the work process of controller SCSI-2 bus through introducing a MOVE MEDIUM command. Next, we installed Samba software on our Linux operation system, and provide the supporting of NFS and CIFS file system. At last, we write a data manage system software. Administrator and User can access to system through Internet Web. Under the GUI circumstance, user can easily manage their data.At last, thesis summarizes the system, and analyzes the advantage and shortcoming. Based on conclusion, thesis gives several prospects in system security and file sharing.
