Research On The Transitional Space Of Residential Street

The thesis take the correlative research results of Behavior theory of Environment and investigated data of west residential area in Hangzhou for external bases. Comparing various examples from different countries, the author analyses the relationship between the residential-street-building, the road and the transitional space, defines components of the transitional space which are selected from the residential street and derives it's possible forms. Furthermore, the space patterns are concluded. The relevant principles of streetscape , which are affected by the function of space pattern and human behavior., are proposed. The author manages to form an integrated theory on transitional space of residential street.The summarizing of space patterns and the control rules of streetscapes make a reference to the related design and planning in future, and reveal the variety of the images of transitional space of residential street.
