As an important part of outdoor space in residential districts, the street spacenot only bears an important traffic feature, but also a road mode with the "street"attribute in the whole road system. Compared to the general street space, residentia l street space shows different local microclimates due to its uniquesettlements space layout and climate background. The orientation, aspect ratio, side building height, aperture form and podium form difference of street may bringit a distinctive influence.Currently, from the micro-climatic therma l comfort leve l, it puts moreattention on large-scale or small-scale types, and the studies about meso-scaletypes such as urban low-grade roads, residential streets and residentia l squares, etc.are increasing significantly in recent years, but still less on the whole. Moreover, existing research generally aims at hot and damp climatic regions, the dry heatclimatic regions, the temperate climatic regions, hot summer and cold winterclimate regions. There are almost no studies about residential street space in thecontext of cold climate. Microclimate thermal comfort studies of residentia l streetspace in the context of cold climate and meso-scale level not only comple mentswith other relevant studies, but also a useful exploration for livability in theperspective of residentia l street microclimate.Due to the complexity of local microclimate in urban cities of cold climate, based on real-time measured research and think ing of five types of spatia l impactfactors affecting microclimate thermal comfort of residential streets, the authorcarries on numerical s imulation and computationa l analys is for two microclimatedominant ele ments of wind and air temperature. For a detailed and comprehensiveunderstanding and analys is of residential street micro-climatic characteristics, andto verify the scientific validity of microclimate numerical simulation, the paper onthe one hand selects representative residentia l districts of Harbin for real-timemeasured research, and on the other hand carries on numerical s imulation for alltypes of residentia l streets based on measured data, which finally fully confirm thereasonableness of numerical simulation methods and lays a solid foundation forlater all-round studies on micro-climate thermal comfort of residentia l streets incold regions.Based on the data from numerical simulation results of all types of streets, and taking the evaluation quantification of microclimate influence factors with thesame principle, the dividing of three micro-climate thermal comfort zones (priorityarea, medium area and poor area) and the weight calculation of micro-climate impact factors, etc. as methods, the paper constructs microclimate therma l comfortevaluation results of all types of streets in all perspectives and all leve ls.Finally, based on the evaluation above, the paper proposes selectionrecommendations of interna l microclimate therma l comfort space for each type ofstreet, selection recommendations of microclimate therma l comfort streets for alltypes of streets and space layout optimization recommendations for a certain typeof street.
