The research task is from the "Marine Electrical Module Research", which is the sub-subject of "two hundred ton Floating Production Storage and Offloading" plan made by the State Economic and Trade Commission. The research object is Belanak FPSO, built by Dalian New Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. The safety monitor of FPSO's ballast system is researched and designed in this article.There is a lot of flammable and explosive gas in large FPSO oil cabin, so it is very dangerous if electric signal exists in it In this article, a liquid level detecting instrument based on magnetism and fiber is developed. By the interaction of magnet, the instrument converts the change of liquid level height into the change of infrared intensity, and generates variational digital signal, then the liquid level of oil cabin can be safely detected. The design, analysis and calculation of instrument machine structure, the circuit of infrared emission and receival, the design of direction detection and signal processing circuit, the oil level signal collection, processing, and display are finished in mis article.Ballast monitor system is the most important part in the FPSO's information automatization system. With the need of research of large FPSO Ballast monitor system, through referring many domestic and overseas documents, investigating the building ship, based on these work, valve on-off logic of Belanak FPSO Ballast system is designed, the software of oil level detection, temperature measure, valves on-off state and pumps pressure detection is finished. In this article, Visual Instrument idea is introduced, LabVIEW 7.0 platform, which is an advanced software in test and measurement field at present, is adopted. Through using graph program and blocking program idea, the real time and dynamic graphic interface, the program of data acquisition and processing in Ballast monitor system, database saving, and data transmission in network are finished.A lot of research and experiments are done to test the oil level detection instrument based on magnet and fiber, and the software of Ballast monitor system is simulated. The result shows that the design of instrument is exactitude, the software runs in regulation, and this research meets the consumer's requirement.
