In the producing process of industry, the accurate measurement of temperature is one of the most important control and measurement parameters. Most traditional temperature mesure methods exist a lot of disadvantages such as high cost, complex equipment, narrow applications, difficult debugging process, difficult to get statistic with the mesure results and so on. Virtual instrument technique is a result of combining computer technique and modern testing techlogy. The virtual instrument technique has broken through in the limit of traditional technique consumedly in many aspects, such as data acquisition, processing, displaying, transmission and saving and so on. The design of a temperature mesure instrument based on visual instruments has fully exert the advantage that to use the techology of visual instrument to establish date-collecting systems. At the same time, it's build a bridge between traditional mesure technique, computer and software technology. By so, the temperature mesure instrument has bright application future.In this paper, it's particularly introduced the use of visual instruments in temperature mesure process with the design of temperature measurement instrument molten steel. Also it showes the design process and theoretic according to establish a temperature mesure instrument by visual instruments technology. The main content includes the following parts: Firstly, introduces the present state and perspective of virtual instrument and molten steel's temperature mesure techniques.The athor discussed the structure and character of virtual instrument. Have given a brief introduction to some visual instruments software empolder and from the comparison, the athor chooses the right explode software Lab VIEW. Also the author shows the work theory of the two mesure methods (one-off fast consuming thermocouple methods and double-wavelength colorimetry mothods) which have been adopted. At the same time, the author explains how to devise the hardware structure of the two mesure methods and generally the hardware includes temperature sensor, signal conditioning module and date acquisition system. The author deeply illustrates the way to utilize database empolde saddlebag labSQL to establish temperature mesure instrument database. At last, the paper illuminates the way date-acquisition card to join with Lab VIEW and how to use Lab VIEW to establish a date collecting system with the help of date-acquisition card. In the mean time, the author gives an integer devise scheme of the temperature mesure instrument software system. Concretely include the particularly devise of the following modules:system logging VI, temperature mesure instrument VI, temperature mesure instrument database VI and so on.In conclusion, the system has improved the accuracy of temperature mesuremet instrument and the veracity of data processing. It can reduce the labor intensity and mesure time. The mesure offset could be much decreased due to labor reading results. It is an intelligent real time temperature measurement system. The whole system uses modularized idea. It has the character of simple operating and vivid huma-machine interface, convenient using, stability, high-precision and widely applying scope.
