essential parts during the landing process. So whether it works well at this time is very important to the pilots and the servicemen to know. But there is still rare study on the on-line fault detection and isolation in landing gear system. The paper is trying to find a good way to solve this problem.Firstly, the methods on fault detection and isolation are summarized, the problems puzzled the researchers are also provided. Limited to the feature of the landing gear and condition of the study, the observed-based method is the main method to statement.Then, The landing gear system is divided into two subsystems. They are shock absorber system and anti-skid braking system. Based on the mathematical model of the two subsystems, a robust fault detection observer is used to detect the fault in components, actuators and sensors respectively.At last, a fault detection and isolation simulation system is constructed through the use, of GUI in MATLAB6.5. Users can use this simulation system to change the value of the parameters to see if the system can detect the fault. When the fault is detected, it can also give the information of the fault, such as the location and the reason to help the servicemen to quickly find and eliminate it. Virtual Test will be a promising research field in the future, so the plan of applying Virtual Test into the fault detection and isolation in the landing gear system is proposed in the prospect part.
