The paper goes on further research about the experimental ice forces on semi-circular breakwaters which is made by State Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering of Dalian University of Technology, based on which it analyzes the strengthened measure about steady and stress distribution, which are the questions paid close attention to in actual design application. Two main aspects of the research work are as follows:(1) The paper introduces the experimental ice forces on semi-circular breakwaters which is made by State Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering of Dalian University of Technology and calculate the ice value for different radius semi-circular component, based on which it speculates on that horizontal ice value and water level accord with biquadratic polynomial function, meanwhile, the paper analyses incidence of ice heap to horizontal ice value of semi-circular component.(2) Based on the experimental ice forces on semi-circular breakwaters, sea ice criteria in 50-return-period, engineering conditions and the profile of the semi-breakwater in Tianjin Harbor, the stability of the semi-circular breakwater by the 50-year return-period ice forces was analyzed. The steady analysis included that of the resist slippery stability and the resist inclining stability of the base line of stone bedding, and the resist slippery stability of foundation, and the stability of the integer. The results indicate that the chief problem in the engineering is that whether the semi-circular component is pushed away and then is the stability of the integer. The paper analyzes the effect of shoulder protector on the side by ice and the results discover shoulder protector on the side by ice that has little effect on improve stability, but the counter shoulder protector has great effect to improve stability and it can resolve the resist slippery stability. If the semi-circular component has greater deadweight, the height of the counter shoulder protector can be reduced. Finally, an improved structure form is suggested for the semi-circular breakwater used in ice-infested waters.(3) The stress distribution of the semi-circular breakwaters with holes by different quantitative ice value to water level, especially the stress distribution of holes is analyzed. The effect of the stress distribution to the holes and the wall thickness are discussed. At last, the result is compared to the stress distribution by wave.
