Semi-circular breakwater is a new protective building. Since the surface is circular, whenthere is a huge shock waves, a certain overtopping changes the wave forces acting on thebreakwater levee, and the wave power point to its center, meanwhile, the foundation stressdistributes little and uniform. The cross section of semi-circular component not only iseconomy, good-looking, less construction process, but also convenient, suited for the harshconditions of the sea areas. All of the advantages promoted the in-depth research of itshydrodynamic characteristics and calculation method of wave forces.Firstly, in order to research the distribution of wave forces on a semi-circular breakwater,based on the physical model test to find a suitable calculation formula, the test data of wavepressure on the body was analyzed, getting the distribution of horizontal force, vertical forceand uplift force which acting on the breakwater. Based on the calculation and analysis results,correction method of design formula about semi-circular breakwater is proposed. Secondly,because of the high correlation between the breakwater wave force and wave force moment,using the reliability analysis method which considering the relevant variables, the recommendvalue of the reliability index and failure probability and loadings partial coefficients ofsemi-circular breakwater were obtained. Finally, the design expressions of semi-circularbreakwater for anti-sliding and anti-overturning was proposed.
