| Semi-circle breakwater is a new type of defended building. It originated from Japan, and had been practically applied in our country at the present time. The existing literatures show that the studies about semi- circle breakwater at home and abroad are rarely developed, achievements are relatively limited. Therefore there is not a better systemic theory and practicable criterion. In this paper, we use VOF to trace water free surface, solve numerical value of N-S fluid control equations. From two aspects of numerical simulation and experiment, the hydraulic natures of semi-circle breakwater under water have been studied. The main results can be expressed as follows: (1) The wave forces calculated by the software which compute wave load over semi-circle breakwater by N-S equation of numerical solution based on VOF agree well with experimental results. It provides a new approach to compute wave load over semi-circle breakwater. (2) Based on numerical simulation and model test, relation of the total wave forces over semi-circle breakwater, reflection and transmission coefficient with affected factors such as wave factors, geometrical size of semi-circle breakwater and water depth are given. It has reference value for engineering design. (3) Based on numerical computation, the distribution of flow field at each characteristic time during one period is given. By compared analysis with distribution of wave press of corresponding time, the mechanism of wave force is discussed elementarily. At same time, plenty of data of computation and experiment are provided in this paper, the foundation for more academic analysis is established. |
