Because of the important effect on peak load shifting, the ice thermal storage air conditioning system will be tremendous potential in China. But the economic differences between ice thermal storage air conditioning system and conventional air conditioning system will cause difficulty in widely application.In this paper, We will mainly discuss the economic factors related ice thermal storage air conditioning system, taking a building as an example, the papa shows the quality of the cold loading of it by calculating the dynamic cold loading with the help of the DEST-h simulation soft-ware. According to the electrical price of the Xi'an city, through the change of the initial cost of ice thermal storage equipment and time of day rate, two control modes: chiller -priority and ice- priority are used to analyze the relation between ice thermal storage ratio and the chiller capacity, the added initial costs, the operation savings and payback period. Based on the loading profile of the project in design day, in a range of the ice storage ratio, the added initial costs are not too much and a short payback period would be implemented.In the process of the ice thermal storage system operation, we will calculate the cost of operation in two different control modes: ice storage priority and chiller priority in the partial loading, analyze and compare the energy cost per unit and the cost saving per unit when the loading figure changes. It can draw the conclusion that we should adopt different control mode in the different loading ratio, thus can reduce the operation cost at most comparing with conventional air conditioning system.At last, this paper researches the exergy analysis of the ice thermal storage system. Through analyzing the exergy loss all parts of the system, we can discover the distribution and causes of the exergy loss in the system, point out the way for energy savings.The object of the study is to attempt to research the comprehensive economic analysis of the ice-storage systems, and hope it can make a contribution to the design and application of the ice-storage systems.
