| The (Advanced) Static Var Generator (ASVG) possess a wider operation range and faster response time than other reactive compensate devices used before. The ASVG can produce the rated reactive power even when the voltage dropped. The ASVG now makes one of the most important devices in Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS).The Digital Signal Process (DSP) chip can realize complex arithmetic by means of DSP's high speed and rich peripherals. The feature of rapidly develop, high speed and high reliability of Complex Program Logic Device(CPLD) makes CPLD playing a more and more role in the design of digital system. Now the combination of DSP and CPLD is a trend in the future electric system design.What will be discussed in this following paper are the principle of ASVG and the method of Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM), which was applied to ASVG According to its own principle, an ASVG controller founded on the highly speed digital signal process chip -- TMS320LF2407 and Complex Program Logic Device (CPLD) was designed, and the control software mainly grounded on SPWM control method was also developed. And, more details on this paper addressed on the hardware circuit of ASVG and some special notes about programming in DSP, CPLD and Windows serial port also were made. At last, the experiments of this ASVG device had been carried out in the real life and a corresponding result had been analyzed at large. |
