This paper first illuminates the harm of large voltage deviation and the influence of var compensation. Then it analyses the importance of var compensation. It introduces the development of var compensation equipment, ASVG's superiority and its domestic and international development present situation.Based on established ASVG's equivalent model, this paper introduces its working principle in detail. Compared with traditional installation, it shows good working property. On this foundation, this paper establishes its mathematics model of stable state, and the dynamic mathematics model of ASVG with switch function law.This paper discusses some kinds of control methods of ASVG, realizes indirect current based on Fuzzy PI control. This paper introduces its design stage, structure and principle.Based on these scheme established, the hardware and software design scheme of ASVG are determined. This paper elaborated the design of inverter using IGBT, and the design of controller adopting digital signal processor-DSP. It introduces the modular structure of ASVG's software.Paper also presents the emulation scheme, emulation result and actual operation result, of the installation designed using schemes above.In view of the regular appearance of asymmetrical operation condition in current power net, this paper still introduces ASVG's control and operation under systematic asymmetrical condition.Finally summarizes for paper, and analyses the further development direction of ASVG.Experiment result shows that this installation has great superiority, have vast application prospect.
