The development of mechanical theory depends on the applications of new material. Studying new material in mechanism is now one of an important content in mechanical theory. The aluminum core is manufactured by pulling and rolling technics. Then it is enwinded outside by the high strength fiber. Thus Composite material CNG cylinders are generated. These kinds of CNG cylinders have been substitutes of custom steeliness cylinders. Nowadays we also become to develop this kind of CNG cylinders in our country, and spread them day by day. The textual research work is one parts of Beijing physical science fund. It generally investigates mechanics capabilities of composite material CNG cylinder. By help of experiments, and adopts the method of finite element analysis to construct composite material shell model. Consequently founds a computing method, which can work on all kinds of composite material cylinders in analysis of mechanical behavior.Started with theory of shells, the elastic mechanics geometrical equations, internal forces and solutions of non-moment theory are analysed. Accordingly founds a definite theory on mechanical behavior of cylinders.By use of non-electricity testing method, the composite CNG cylinder and its aluminum core are tested. And their strain distributing curves are also educed. With the experiment results, we can see axis-orientation strain and annulus-orientation strain are mainly happened around middle part of the cylinder. They have good symmetry character. And they are also well proportioned. The strain near the end of cylinders and around transition parts is ever less. We can have a qualitative analysis of mechanics capabilities and structures about composite material CNG cylinder by those experiments. Thus ensure the veracity of the latter Finite Element Analysis modeling and computing.In this paper, both composite material CNG cylinder and its aluminum core are computed by finite element analysis soft ANSYS. Some important conclusions are educed such as the working stress level of aluminum core is the key factor which affects working capabilities of composite material CNG cylinder. During the course of composite CNG cylinder modeling, adopts shell99 elements to make its six-layer composite material structure and really describes its complex winded angles.
