In this thesis, the spectrum analysis and transient analysis of curved continuous rigid-frame bridge with high piers and long spans under seismic excitation are performed. The influence of the heights of piers and of the curvatures of beams on the results are discussed in the spectrum analysis. The effects of geometric nonlinearity on the results and the relationship between these effects and the heights of piers and the curvatures of beams are also discussed. In the transient analysis under uniform seismic excitation, the result differences between linear analysis and nonlinear analysis are discussed. And in the linear transient analysis under progressive seismic wave excitation, the results have been compared with those of uniform seismic excitation. The comparisons of the results of analysis of a continuous rigid-frame bridge under the uniform seismic excitation using three transient analysis methods have also been made in this thesis.
