With the development of our society, children' s education received extensive attention. The common point of view is that human' s intelligence could be changed, especially in the early period. So children' s early education is important. Some studies point out that intelligence growth and cognitive development are closely related to plentiful experiences. The most effective study is on the basis of practices and activities. So play has the meaning of education.Play is an important part of children' s life. The studies about children' s playground indoors are more than outdoors, especially in the urban public space. Outdoor activities have much potential and supplement the studies in campus. The quality of playground directly embodies the attention and loving about children and influences their growing.Basing on the correlation between special quality and children' s activities, the thesis collects some helpful conclusions from psychology and behavioral science to guide space design. Additionally, the thesis bases on the features of playground, refers to a lot of internal and external design programs, and studies the relation between children and activities places- as well as the relation between human and environment, and the system of children' s playground in city. Moreover, the thesis thoroughly discusses the various contents related to the design of children' s playground in city, and concludes a multi-levels, multi-types, economical and reasonable design mode.
