The Study On Design Strategy With Ecological Concerns Of Dwelling Houses At Chengdu Area

The thesis is about the study on design strategy with ecological concerns of dwelling houses at Chengdu area. Starting from the studys of dwelling houses of traditional and after 20th century 90's, and the unique climate of Chengdu area, calculating the law of dwellers adapting to the climate and the situation for air condition of the contemporary era, the author puts forwards a new rule that the new dwelling houses are the ones of machine air conditioning based upon passive implement technology. Then the author attempts to make a series ideas of design strategy with ecological concerns, which answer for the practical situation of this area, in both short term and long term. All these strategies can be generalized as the harmonious developing for both the human beings and the nature.The thesis consists of 8 chapters. Chapter 1 describes the object, purpose and significance to the studys, as well as the achievements at this field. Chapter 2 describes the characteristics of geography, climate and culture of Chengdu area. Chapter 3 specifies the traditional dwelling houses and the ones after 20th century 90's, put forwards that the traditional dwelling houses belong to ecological architecture of a few shortages, and that the dwelling houses of contemporary era are in a quick improving progress with many serious problems. Chapter 4 to 7 focus on design strategies of 4 aspects, such as new rule of dwelling houses, envelope, interior and exterior space. The author puts forwards the original ideas to utilize the local natural materials, the importance on strengthening the thermal quality of envelope, the effects of reducing humidity at interior space. The author also puts forwards the original ideas that the human beings is the host of the interior space while the exterior host is the nature, and the future of the dwelling house of this area demands on the flexibleness. Chapter 8 ends the thesis by summing-up.
