Taking Ordos rural living environment as an example, there are many problems. Such as the village construction is not reasonable and in disorder; the infrastructure and public service facilities are lagging behind; ecological damage is severe; human and animal activity areas are not separated from each other; sanitation is poor, water supply is in difficult situation; energy consumption for heating and cooking is waste seriously, last but not the least, modern facilities are not complete.With material life has been significantly improved, it is essential to take spiritual life of local residents into consideration. As the saying goes, "manners in five miles are different, customs in ten miles are different." so building a beautiful countryside is not just to build houses,flat roads or houses. It is more important to preserve the historical context, which refers to living houses in history. Houses with reasonable planning reserved eco-friendly features of spatial basis. People in ancient Mongolia Erdos is consist of two immigrants:northwestern Ordos and Shanxi province. At that time, houses are mainly adobe and brick houses, because the climate there is of temperate continental climate, which is cold in winters and hot in summer, spring and severe sandstorm weather in autumn. In the development process, houses are with heavy walls, gently sloping roof and small opening windows. When it need to heat, straws will be com busted.In the thesis, the author takes Ordos rural living environment as research subject in the study, the research method will combine these methods, which are field visit, reasonable planning the layout of the village, recycling energy, retention rammed earth construction, redrawing living space and other methods. The goal of the research is to achieve the local historical and cultural heritage, to optimize land utilization, to save energy and to provide ideas for the new rural construction.
