The net appliance can actualize the interconnection between the appliances and the web. It can be controlled through the web terminal. The net appliance technology is to make household appliances and network interconnected, and realize the long-distance control through the terminal. To realize the interconnecting, we must set up the product model that contains the features of the household appliances or the house, and make the network exchange of datum of electrical specified. Web server and Web browser can offer very good service. If the embedded equipment, which supports relevant protocol of Internet, such as TCP/IP, etc., becomes the Web server, users can use the web browser end to monitor and manage this embedded equipment I/O interface signal remotely.In this thesis, a miniature, practical Web server is set up. It may monitor the state of the sensors joined in the system I/O Port bus and control the working states of the household appliances. The Web server is mainly made up of one-chip computer and the Ethernet controller; TCP/IP protocols supported include ARP protocol, IP protocol, ICMP protocol, TCP protocol, HTTP protocol, etc. In the hardware design, adopt the low-priced, RISC(Reduced Instruction Set Computer) applied, powerful 8-bit one-chip computers PIC16F877 to control the Ethernet interface controller RTL8019AS which is used extensively in embedded Internet; It is simple, reliable to connect. In software design, to the following protocols: ARP protocol, IP protocol, ICMP protocol, TCP protocol, HTTP protocol, etc., a optimized realization has been carried on; Optimized TCP/IP protocol will relatively lower the consumption of the system resource, and can be operated in PIC one-chip computers.The actualization of the Web server may offer WWW service for computers on the network. Users on the network can use various kinds of Web browsers to visit the server, or monitor, manage the I/O interface signal on the server remotely. The network scheme for the household appliances put forward by this thesis, which is not only low cost, but also meets the current requirment, is suitable for the China's actual conditions. It will have extensive application prospect and market value.
