As the connection between transmission network and consumers facilities, distribution network has been paid more and more attentions about its planning. According to the statues of distribution network in out country, some parts of research work on the distribution network planning are studied in this paper as following:In Part one the implementation procedure of Land Usage Method applied in the Spatial Load Forecast of the distribution system was studied. Firstly the theory model and forecast step of the Land Usage Method was introduced. Then a system based on Land Usage Method was designed and realized by using Fuzzy rule, at the same time a representative databank was set to save typical models to get good adaptability .In Part two the Load transfer method was applied in the study of substation planning in distribution, firstly the Load transfer method was applied to improve traditional iteration method and GA at a single grade of voltage , and a better result was achieved. Then it was applied in the substation planning at two grade of voltage, the result shows that it was better than the two grade voltage planning separately. In Part three optimal planning of the distribution network was studied. By calculating network path, It is more conveniently to code when applied the GA in the optimal planning of the distribution network. The model of the distribution system planning considerates economy and reliability, After the planning of the radial network was completed, using path matrix to select the connecting line and realize the network reliability.
