In this paper, the history and present status of the techniques of efficiency optimization of induction machines are reviewed, the theories and the characteristics of the commonly used methods, such as loss model control, search control and simple state control etc., are mastered.The efficiency optimization of induction machines are studied aiming at a vector controlled system. According to the artificial experiences, an efficiency optimization scheme based on fuzzy control is designed for vector controlled induction machines, the simulation analysis is performed and the related parameters are optimized. The simulation results show that the scheme does not need any parameter of induction machines, and can search the optimal efficiency points automatically under different operation conditions, and the energy saving effect is good.Furthermore, in order to verify the validity and effectiveness of the proposed scheme, after the principle of a direct vector control is understood, the control circuits are designed based on TMS320F240 DSP, and a prototype of the vector controlled adjustable speed drive is realized by assembly language, and the fuzzy efficiency optimization experiments are carried out on the prototype, some conclusions are drawn.Lastly, the shortages of the proposed scheme are pointed out and the method how to improve it is put forward.
