| On the basis of the city -traffic control theory and method, the factors influencing delay of signaled intersection are analyzed in the paper. An arithmetic of multiple stage intersection is supposed based on fuzzy logic for decreasing the average delay of the vehicles. In this arithmetic urgent values is used to describe the urgency of each stage, which are the basis of distributing the right of way . These values are used to decide, at regular time intervals, whether to extend or terminate the current signal phase by two-stage fuzzy-inference . By analyzing vehicle states at signaled intersection such as arrival running etc, the microscopic simulation models are set up. The simulation system is programmed using Visual C++ ,which achieved overtime simulation. This simulation system is applied to a real intersection in order to evaluate the performance of the controller. The results show that the fuzzy controller has the ability to adjust its signal timings in response to changing traffic conditions and that the fuzzy controller presented in this paper is better than current fixed-time control and improves the level of intersection signal service capacity. |
