Nowadays, the whole globe is facing the problems of energy crisis and air pollution. These problems propel us to consider the development of the future cars. Having the benefits of both electric vehicle(EV) and traditional internal combustion vehicle, Hybrid Electric Vehicle(HEV) becomes the focus of vehicle research and development. As there are many different projects to construct a certain HEV, it's waste of capital and time to design and test HEV one by one. It's necessary to research HEV structure and control strategy by using computer simulation technology.This paper is based on the sub-task of "simulation analysis system of multi-energy-source powertrain energy management" of the 863 electric vehicle project. After giving a detailed analyze about the different hybrid configurations and referring to the successful software of electric vehicle simulation, the author build the forward-facing transmission system simulation model based on Matlab/Simulink. The third chapter of this paper gives a detailed introduction of the transmission system modeling and its' realization. Then mask the models and control strategies into Simulink library browser which the user can use expediently.The transmission system play an important role in vehicle running and performance test. So to build the reasonable and correct components models and research on the advanced control strategy are meaningful to both power distribution and components selecting for HEV. This paper gives a detailed analyze about the gear shift rule and the clutch operation. According the fuzzy neural-network control strategy(FNNCS), this paper constitute two gear shift schedules to change gear according the optimal engine curve and the wheel torque ratio separately. These strategies are applied in the software HevSim the electric vehicle task group developed.Results of the process and performance simulation of PHEV EQ7200 at a certain driving circle(NEDC) indicate that the transmission system model and its' control strategy work well in the circle simulation. The results bring the improvement of economical fuel consumption and dynamical performance for HEVs. Further thispaper introduces the main points of electric vehicle optimization design technology. Finally, a conclusion of this dissertation is given and some related issues and future work in this area are also addressed.
