With the development of the society at full speed, automobile becomes people's indispensable means of transportation more and more. The positioning and dispatching on automobiles is regarded as one of the most important contents of intelligent transportation system. Whether the special-purpose vehicle or taxi, bus and long-distance car, the positioning and dispatching on them can greatly mtellectualize the management and improve the traffic safety. In addition, in our public mobile communication market, there is a vacancy in the application of PTT (push to talk) technology. So whether in big groups such as police stations, traffic bureaus and hospitals; or medium and small-scale enterprises such as taxi companies which are mainly professional clients, communication system with such additional functions as data transmission except phone call are especially required as well. In order to reduce cost, the running of PTT business through mobile network is a developing direction. Based on CDMA technology, the world-leading system, GoTa Digital Trunking Communication System, which has considerable benefits using wireless resource sharing technology, and GoTa network has been set up in some domestic and abroad areas.Under the background, this paper has mainly introduced the design of mobile terminal based on GPS and GoTa to the actual demand of the market. On the basis of the introduction of GPS and GoTa, the choice of the message protocol and abstraction of position message have been realized by programme. According to the characteristic of MG801A module, this paper processes the test of AT instructions, realizes the control of PTT and telephone, fulfill data transmission based on short message and CDMA 1X. According to the characteristic of UPSD3000, IAP (in application programming) has been realized, which greatly makes systematic debugging, upgrading and maintenance convenient; according to the electromagnetism of the automobile electron, this paper discussed the design of EMC filter.According to the demand of the market, this paper analyses the automatic bus station-informer and wireless video monitor, the follow-up project to be researched on.Through the test of EFT in laboratory, terminals run steadily and reliably. And it has already succeeded in application in the real system now, which has made good benefit.
