In this paper on the basis of analyzing actuality of the various reactive power compensation device in-use in the powersystem, the paper presents a new pattern reactive power compensation device model of in series structure composed by power capacitors and PWM rectifier, and the topological structure be provided with the virtue of no impulsion and automatism, continuum regulate the voltage of parallel connection capacitance in a range and modeling the device. Then analyze the dynamic performance of controll system and give the parameter of device cling to the device model. Its simulation model is built by employing MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation and analyzing of the results validate that the device can adjust the reactive power dynamically produced by the power capacitors with PWM rectifier of relatively small capacity.
