Investigation And Research Of The "Village In City" In Hefei

The "Village in city" is a negative result of Chinese rapid urbanization. The extending of city,the dual system between the city and countryside, and the shortage of the public house for the low-pay people make the "village in city" come into being. With the high building density and the poorness of public facilities and installations, the living condition is bad, and the village is threatened by the fire disaster. At the same time, large numbers of low-pay workers living there, which brings some social problems,such as the increasing crime-rate and the mental decadence of the residents and so on.Based on a lot of practical investigations and research about the "village in city" of Hefei, Shenzhen and Beijing, this article puts forward two kinds of remodeling mode of the "village in city": holistic mode and gradual mode. The holistic remodeling means demolishing the old surroundings, and building a new one, it pays attention only to the rebuilding of the surroundings. However, the gradual remodeling means rebuilding the surroundings and improving the comprehensive competence of the residents step by step, it lays stress on the improvement of the surroundings and the spirits of the residents.Besides giving an account of the theories,this article making a full demonstration of the two remodeling modes with the practical remodelings of the "village in city".
