Vehicle ride performance is one of the most important factors, which influence ride comfort. On the other hand, it is one of the most important indices in the heading market competition. Therefore the investigation to improve vehicle ride performance is attached more and more attention. With the development of technology, the dynamics analysis software is applied in vehicle's design and manufacture etc.The paper summarizes the develop course of multi-body dynamics theory and the basal theory of ADAMS software, the main parts and character of ADAMS are also introduced.The article aims at Refine commercial vehicle, builds up a whole multi-body model which include chassis , suspensions , tires subsystems and etc. The writer develops one software to produce random roads, and also develops the other software to evaluate vehicle ride comfort. Furthermore, the simulation of suspension frequency's measure is realized. The simulation of ride comfort under different speeds and variable roads input is also realized. The result of experiment shows that the simulation is reliable.On the base of the accurate model, The paper optimizes the suspension parameters byD-Optimal design. The optimization improves the vehicle ride comfort.
