Having flexible software and hardware, The Digital Controller with Open Architecture is convenient to renewed and therefore suitable for FMS and CIMS circumstance, which represents for the orientation of Digital Controller technology. Nowadays, the research and development hotspot of Open Architecture Digital Controller is focus on PC (Personal Computer) based Digital Controller. Entered Digital Controller field, PC enriched the hardware and software resources of Digital Controller, which is propitious of realized bus type, modularization, open architecture Digital Controller, and make Digital Controller have strongly rivalrousness with high ratio of capability to price.We introduce in detail the structure and platform of the Open Architecture Digital Controller in this thesis. The present state of Open Architecture Digital Controller is analyzed. The hardware and software structure are discussed, and a reference hardware and software structure model was brought forward. Especially, we also analysis the function of fault diagnosis system, at last Open Architecture distributed fault diagnosis system to be constructed.Think about realizable of system, we used advanced technology of PC software and hardware to constructed a open architecture controller platform with IPC, MCT8000 motion controller and AD card, so it has ability of interchangeability, scalability, portability, interoperability, expandability. With the structure of host-client, the s ystem has not only expandability, interlink ability but also high real time ability and high speed and precision. We validate the Controller mentioned above through use it on the project of aviation glass elongater, Finally the controller is successfully achieved the design demand, and expected requirement is reached.
