Traditional numeric control technique makes system closed. And information interchange can not be implemented among different equipments;Information transmission can not be actualized among different software;Data sharing can not be realized among different data base. In this paper, a novel design scheme about open AC linear servo system based on industrial PC is priority researched to realize openness and expansibility. And its background, property and advantage are discussed in detail. In this scheme, the necessity and feasibility of the design are demonstrated. Open architecture linear AC servo system is a system of modularization, recombination and expansion. Its core is opening, namely that the system is established on the PC platform of general using system construction, and the module is independent each other. Connect agreement of each module is clear and definite. The opening of system can make the user embedding advanced control strategy and individuality module in it The system has characters of interconversion, retractility, transplantable, interoperability and expandability.The specific implementation method of the system is introduced. In the design of hardware platform, the IPC and its I/O periphery interface card are selected. The choice of software exploitation environment and programme language are accomplished in the design of software platform. A graphics language Lab VIEW and the basic design principle of system software are introduced. This real-time ability of system is researched after hardware and software platform are confirmed. The hardware circuit of the system is designed with modularize design method, which includes sensors and power-driving module. The paper adopts compound measure method of magnetic pole position based on position sensor of Hall switch and grating ruler, which realized the precision orientation of magnetic pole position and ensured the performance of vector control. Modularize design method is adopted in software design also, which mainly consists of handle panel module, current sampling module, velocity and position calculate module, vector commutation module, PID adjust module, fault handle module, SVPWM produce module. These modules work in line, and make up of the linear AC servo system.With the development of PC software and hardware technology, performance and opening degree of PC- based open architecture linear AC servo system will be improved. The system has extensive application prospect in productive practice. It can act as not only experiment gallery to verify the control strategy but also whole control system to provide to users.
