Research Of Engineering Geological Features And Foundation Treatment Measures In Shaoxing Region

The foundation design is a real challenge because of the complex engineering geological conditions. A reasonable choice of foundation design brings great economical and social benefit, however, a bad one always results in serious loss.The foundation of Shaoxing region is various and complex. The features of the foundation differ from this district to another, and different treatment measures of foundation are applied. On the basis of the complex geological features of Shaoxing region, it is presented in this paper that three districts are divided, that are hilly, plain and littoral districts.By analyzing the reports of the engineering geological surveys and the water geological surveys of Shaoxing region, different measures are taken to deal with different foundations owing to the different geological conditions. In the hilly district, bored pile and manual excavated pile are adopted, and prestressed concrete pipe pile and cement mixing pile are popular besides bored pile in the plain district. However, prestressed concrete pipe pile is applied more frequently in the littoral district.Through synthetical analysis, the application of the cement mixing pile to treat soft foundation is studied in the paper. The question of applying the prestressed concrete pipe pile is discussed. Measures of applying the bored pile under different geological conditions are reported as well.The research of engineering geological features and the evaluation of engineering geological divisions in Shaoxing are of great benefit to choosing a safe and economical foundation treatment measure, and it is hoped that the paper can provides a reference for anyone for design and further study.
