A Case Study On The Flatland Type Regional Small Watershed Eco-landscape Unit Of Human Settlements On The Loess Plateau

The paper focuses on the case study of the Flatland Type Regional Small Watershed Eco-landscape Unit of Human Settlements , which is part of the fund research project "The Theory and Method Research of Ecological Landscape Security Model for the Planning of Human Settlements on Loess Plateau", supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.Directed by theoretical model of the Regional small watershed Eco-landscape unit ,based on three typical classification as "Valley type", "River valley type" and "Flatland type", the study case choose the "Flatland type" of Fengxi, Luochuan county.According to the condition of the Loess Plateau, with analyzing the Eco-landscape pattern, the case study was started form establish boundaries of Eco-landscape unit to scientific investigation with whole unit.According to the actual condition of Loess Plateau, bringing together theories of Ecology, Eco-landscape and the Sciences of human settlements, the case investigations have been carried out in Fengxi Yuan, which lies on Xiangu river in Luochuan county, Shannxi province. Based on investigation and analysis, the paper then dissect each system, find out the existing ecological problems and its crux to be at.From type division of Ecological unit of Human settlements,Loess Flatland Ecological unit of Human settlements has been proved with scale and boudary. Being based on the unit establishment, study has been carried out on the unit's landscape pattern analysis with the landscape ecology method, used the ecology sensitivity analysis and the ecology pattern crucial nature appraisal, it has obtained the most crucial ecology area, crucial ecology area and four kinds of landscapes ecology crucial area as so; thorough researched on the landscape elements of Security Pattern, it proposed that Security Pattern is constituted from the Edge, the Corridor and so on.Therefore, putting the base on theoretical proposition of ecological security model of human settlements in Loess Plateau, the study carry on the system reorganization of the unit, to constructthree systems, for Security Model for Loess Flatland Ecological unit of Human settlements, which are Natural support system, the Human being support system and the Human construction system, emphasised on Natural support system is basis for the unit, the units' Security Model has been initiatively established,.After discussing the ecological theory on land-space synthetically planning and design, the research work suggest village and small town planning for LuoChuan Fengxi should maitain and establish landscape security pattern ,also, method and suggestion are gave to protect Security Pattern. So that, all of the landscape elements can display themselves ecological function as well as the overall ecological function, to form the health and stable loess flatland human settlements.
