The double-cruved arch bridge was firstly built in Wuxi County of Jiangsu province, it has been established widely. For all kinds of reason, however, most double-cruved arch bridges have been damaged seriously after being used for some time and needed to be assessed for it's bearing capacity. In this paper, material nonlinear has been employed for the study of internal force caculation of the double-cruved arch bridge. Firstly, the first Guijiang Bridge has been applied for the background. Three-dimensional finite element has been set up by the actual axis of arch, internal force and deflection under experiment load has been calculated through method of linear analysis and material nonlinear. The relative loading experiment results are compared with the calculated values, the feasibility and the reliability and the rationality of this method are verified. Secondly, because the bridge doesn't yield under test load, to study material nonlinear, the bridge has been applied all sorts of loads, distribution of internal force has been analysed after crack. By the compare of linear analysis and material nonlinear, the rationality of the way of the material nonlinear has been tested ang verified. The internal forces calculation method analysis is to provide the theories foundation of the existing double-cruved arch bridges, and is an important basement to assess real bearing capacity and to choose responsible strengthening scheme.
