When a car is running at a high speed, tire burst is one of the main reasons to the malignant traffic accidents. Running out of the normal pressure, particularly under low pressure, for long hours, is the most internal cause for a high-speed tire to explode. Installing tire pressure monitoring system(TPMS) can prevent effectively a tire from running out of normal pressure for long hours, and increases automobile active safety. At the present time, there are many TPMS control methods, divided into direct type and indirect type, but all of them can not leave nothing to be desired. Indirect type monitoring tire pressure is used in this paper. First, this paper proceeds the experiments of wheel rolling radius, gains experimental results; Next, this paper summarizes the variation of pulse relative difference taken into account of speed, tire pressure difference and tire abrasion, and founds the academic gist of pulse intercomparison method; Last, this paper brings forward an alarm mode of tire pressure abnormity based on pulse intercomparison. This paper designs the entire alarm mode into four parts. Sampling cycle and speed calculating mode samples the pulses of four wheel speed sensors, calculates the speed of the vehicle, and renovates the data in the memorizor. Self-inspection mode checks hardware faults, supervises sampling signals. Calibrating mode measures calibrating constants, and the abrasion relation of four tires. Alarm mode judges tire pressure abnormity and accomplishes the alarm function. In alarm mode, first, the pulses of wheel speed sensors are amended by speed and tire abrasion and standard pulses is put forward; then, to secure the precision of pulse comparison, the singleness alarm mode of two grade comparison is designed; last, to prevent the system from error alarm made by several temporal, random factors, the mode of triplex error alarming prevention is adopted. A new tire pressure abnormity alarm mode is put forward in this paper. The makeup of the mode is simple and it's means is feasible. This paper initiates a new thought and establishes a foundation for a further research.
