Electric power steering is environmental protection, energy-conservation, small and adjustable dynamics, so electric power steering has an advantage over hydraulic power steering and electric power steering must replace hydraulic power steering soon. The paper's study is in favor of improvement of automobile Electric power steering device. It is necessary and valuable to design a testing system of automobile Electric power steering device's function. The electric quantities and non-electric quantities are colleted through corresponding sensors. The system needs to collect speed, engine's rotating speed and torsion moment of steering wheel, turning angle, resistance moment, motor's temperature, current, voltage, moment. They are stored in the slave computer of C8051F005 microcontroller, then the slave computer transmits the quantities to the master computer through RS232 serial port and we analyze the relations of each quantity in Microsoft Access Database finally. According to above, we analyze and improve electric control unit so that it can run effectively. The experiment proves that the testing system is feasible and effective. During the research there are some problems were found needed to be improved and consummated further.
