With the rise of the train speed and the load, what become important issues are how to enhance the vehicle dynamic performance, to drop the vibration impact energy of the structure, to reduce running resistance, to improve the riding comfort of passengers, and to decrease the operation cost of the railway. As the incident of the failure of railway vehicle structure occurs at home and abroad, it is increasingly important to investigate the reliability of the car body strength. Based on the theoretical study of material, the assessment methodology and test for the analysis of structural strength, considering the domestic conditions, the investigation of the structural optimization and the prediction of the structural fatigue strength under random load are conducted worldwide, which is theoretical and practical significance to guide the lightweight design of product, to optimize the dynamic performance of structural, to assess the structural strength and fatigue life during the development of new products.Thanks to the development and widely used of CAD and CAE, the optimal design of the railway vehicle structure has made great progress, however, which can not meet the demand of rapid development of high speed train in China. There is still no post processing system for the strength analysis of the major components of the railway car body. In this paper, the post processing system for the major components of the car body is established, secondary-developing of ANSYS and AutoCAD software based on VB. This system takes full advantage of Access Database to manage the result of strength analysis of car body. To achieve the post processing of strength analysis, what should be done for engineer who use this system is inputting or choosing the basic parameters of the components in the Human-computer interaction interfaceThe design process of the system is demonstrated systematically in this paper, as well as some pivotal issues and the solutions to them during design. Specific designs are conducted on the foundation of overall design of the system, such as basic methods of VB program development and design,secondary-development of ANSYS based on VB secondary-development of AutoCAD based on VB,the management of Database and Word form generation method based on VB. To validate the feasibility of the system, the system is utilized to post process a metro's body whose static strength and fatigue strength are analyzed ahead. The results obtained from the system show that this system can fulfill the expected functions well, and it is more effective than the way performed manually.
