Secondary refining is an important part of production process of modern steelcompanies. In this process, molten steel are poured into the steel ladle to refine. Due todanger caused by the high temperature of molten steel, steel ladle transporter, which isspecified to deliver steel ladle, are used in the delivery and transfer process. As the structureand weight of steel ladles are various, steel companies need ladle transporter with differentstructure and load capacity. Therefore, mass customization production of steel ladletransporter is necessary.In order to satisfy the demand of the market of ladle transporter which is characterizedas short production cycle, various requirements and fast changing, rapid design system ofsteel ladle transporter is developed. Based on the combination of Microsoft Visual Studio6.0and UG/OPEN, C programming language is used as in the development process. Accessdatabase in Microsoft Office software is used to set up databases of frame, towing-pin,suspension, and commonly used material of rapid design system. This rapid design systemlargely reduces the development duration and cost of production steel ladle transporter andimproves its competitiveness in the market.
