With the development of the national economy, the construction of the urban rail transit system gains a quicker development. Accordingly, the research into construction technique and problems of technical economy in the construction of the urban metro has became valuable both in the aspects of theory and practice. This paper takes the construction of the first phrase in Shenzhen metro engineering-science museum station as an example to take a research in three stages. In the first stage, through the research of the characteristics of the construction of the metro station, a proper evaluation system of the construction is founded. AHP method is used to optimise the construction schemes avoiding the subjectivity of the traditional method based on the experience of experts. In the second stage , according to the result of selection, the cut and cover technique is firstly used to construct the metro station. This paper explains the key techniques (traffic distributary, the design of temporary road surface systerm , dewatering approach and excavation of main earthwork , etc )and construction consequences of the selected scheme. In the third stage on the complete of the construction, a careful analysis of the economy of the project was carried out to prove the property of the selection. On the other hand, the in-situ data and the analyse of it provide a reference to the similar project and set up a foundation for the ordinal-covered excavation technique domestically .
