Highway is the important infrastructure of national economy and defence,the construction of road network must adapt to or exceed the development of national economy and community,and in the different phase of society development,it should have corresponding scale.So the analysis and study of the reasonable road network scale is significant for holding the adaptability between traffic and economy,founding out the shortage in the process of road construction and development,Clearing about the developing thought, objective and the emphasis of construct, promoting harmonious development of traffic and economy,and realizing traffic modernization and continuable development.In the thesis the influencing factors of the road network scale are analyzed comprehensively ,and structure model is builded on the model technology of system engineering, then the hierarchical structure model is established. According to the process of developed countries,the increscent rule of region road network scale is included systematically.the three stages of outgrow, development, maturation experienced by highway scale are analyzed, and based on the situation of our country, the several typical change characters about transcendence, multistage in overall trend and attenuation of elasticity coefficient relative to economy development for highway construct in undeveloped area is discussed in detail.these fruits settle the foundation for the following study.Then,the thinking and method of ascertaining road network scale reasonably are bringed forward from travelling general mileage.equivalent general mileage and grade optimization of road network.the track of region road network is simulated by the model of growth curve;equivalent mileage is ensured by the transport intensity method;after acquiring the general mileage an approximate optimum scheme of grade is pursued for guiding highway construct to meet traffic demand.At last making use of the study fruit in the thesis the reasonable road network scale of Guiyang city is analyzed,expecting that the study from experience can provide some help for practical task.
