Urban Road Network In The Development Of A Reasonable Size

The urban road of a city is an important part of its traffic system. And it is also important infrastructure for the development of the city economy and community as well as for the citizen's daily life. The construction of the urban road network must be well consistent with the development of the national economy and community. At different stage of the city development, there should be urban road network with rational scale. Therefore, analysis and investigation of the rational developing scale of the urban road network will be of great significance for the following aspects: adjusting the adaptability between traffic and economy; finding the problems during the urban road construction and development; establishing rational developing project for the urban road network; facilitating the harmonious development of traffic and economy; realizing the modernization and sustainable development of the traffic system.In this thesis, firstly the meaning of the developing scale of urban road network was deeply illustrated. Next, based on the comprehensive analysis of the influencing factors of the urban road network developing scale, the hierarchical structure model of the urban road network scale was established using the model technology of system engineering. Then the essential characteristics of the urban road network development were summarized. It was pointed out that the urban road network scale should exhibit different characteristic at different stage of urbanization. On the analysis of the gross scale of the urban road network and the optimization of its hierarchical structure, the idea and method for ascertaining the rational scale of the urban road network were brought forward and the following theory and method for calculating the urban road network scale were established: (1) The theory for calculating the urban road network scale under the balance of supply and demand. (2) Definite scale by analogy standard value.
