People's demand for healthy v entilation and t he proposal of sustainable green building after the disaster of SARS attach high importance to the superiority of natural ventilation. However, at colleges and universities, places which need more natural ventilation than others, less attention is paid to the quality of wind environment of teaching buildings and to the thermal comfort of students, especially in the universities o f Chengdu, the local weather condition with low wind speed and high relative humidity makes it hard for engineers to decide whether to sacrifice the thermal comfort of students or not by the way of natural ventilation. This paper adopts the theory of Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) to first make numeral simulation analyses of the wind environment around the teaching building in the new campus of certain university in Chengdu, comparing and contrasting the effects of wind d irection and space between the teaching buildings on the introduction of natural ventilation, and further simulating the temperature field and velocity field in the classroom with natural ventilation, making evaluations and comparative analyses of the thermal comfort in the classroom, combining the research achievements home and abroad about the thermal comfort of natural ventilation with the thermal comfort evaluate model of natural ventilation in Chengdu with its weather conditions. The conclusions can be drawn from the research as follows: 1. It is necessary to ameliorate the effect of relative humidity by compensatory wind speed, considering the feature of high relative humidity in Chengdu. The thermal comfort evaluate model of natural ventilation in Chengdu established on the basis of adaptive standard and compensatory wind speed can be used as the reference to the thermal comfort evaluation of natural ventilation in Chengdu. It mainly includes three parts: (1) when the indoor temperature is between the lowest temperature and neutral temperature of the thermal comfort zone, humidity affects little on thermal comfort, so the indoor temperature is comfortable; (2) when the indoor temperature is between the neutral temperature and the highest temperature of thermal comfort zone, the compensatory wind speed can only ameliorate the effect of relative humidity over 70%; (3) when the...
