The line heating, a very special technology in steel plate forming process, is used widely in the shipyard to create cured surface of ship structure at present. With the rapid development of ship production, traditional line heating technology has become more and more deficient in manufacturing the increasing ship hull pieces. One important reason is that the oxygen-acetylene torch has many disadvantages in the heating process. So finding the ways to improve the efficiency of the heating has been put forward in the naval architectural procedure. Developed under this engineering background, this subject is aimed at exploring practical ways to apply induction heating in line heating process. To support the subject, his paper did a lot of research work in the numerical simulation of steel plate's induction heating and thermal elasto-plastic deformation, and it's main contents are summarized as follows:1. Contrasted induction heating with oxygen-acetylene torch on the base of the characteristic of line heating and mechanism of induction heating, and drawn a conclusion that induction heating is very suitable for the line heating technology on a sensitive level.2. Utilizing electromagnetic and thermal knowledge, studied induction heating 's FEM theory, and acquired a mathematics method to solve the magnetic-thermal coupling problem in it.3. Associated with FEM theory, explored a method to simulate static and mobile induction heating process with ANSYS software, and demonstrated the advantage of induction heating by analyzing the simulation results at several aspects.4. Based on the FEM theory, studied the simulation method of the steel plate 's thermal elasto-plastic deformation.5. Associated with FEM theory, explored a method to simulate the steel plate 's thermal elasto-plastic deformation with ANSYS software, and discussed the relationship between the distribution of temperature and deformation.6. Simply introduced the induction heating system and the gauges available in the lab. Compared and verified the simulation results with the experiment results and analyzed possible reasons lead to errors.7. On the base of summarizing the previous research results, addressed the plan to improve simulation precise, and presented out the research works to be continued.
