The Study Of Dental Image Digital System

Since a long period ago, the dentistry diagnosis is mainly depended on the X-ray photograph. However, the storage of these X-ray images needs large store space and it is not convenient to the storage and index, too. The digitization of the dental picture can not only simplify the operation and reduce the cost but also increase the accuracy and speed of the diagnosis.So, in this paper a dental image digital system is developed. And it is mainly composed by three parts: dental image collecting, dental image processing and case date-base management.The image collecting parts mainly complete the conversion of the optics photograph to the image that can be treated by the computer. In this step, the pictures of teeth are shot by CCD and store in the compute at the aid of the video collecting cards. The image processing parts realize the geometric transformation, color adjusting, enhancement, measurement and some specially good effects of the collected images. And at the assist of the image processing, the more image information of dental images is exploited, so that the odontologist can diagnose more accurately. The case date-base management can create, add, delete, modify and browse the image information the patient.It is tested that the system shows low-cost, powerful function and simple operation, and it is of great application potential.
