| As a quantity of automobile rapidly increase, atmosphere environment has been harmed in the city. The important approach of reducing emission is analyzed from control unit and fuel quality. MMT fuel additive is capable of enhance antiknock mechanism and octane inductivity. At the same time, it is provided with the conveniency, twopenny and high inductivity. But, the effect of its on vehicles emission is disputed for the moment.By processing and investigating automobile emission's six hundred inspection data from the tests that infection on exhaust emissions from using MMT at a concentration of 8.3 mg Mn/L in USA between 2000-2004, The investigation and statistical analysis show that comparing with Clear-fueled vehicles, the averages for THC from MMT-fueled vehicles is greater 7.74%, CO is slightly greater and NOX is lower 11.6%. About deterioration rate of THC, CO and NOx is respectively greater 118%, 24.8% and 33.3%. But TWC converter efficiency is generally greater than Clear-fueled-vehicles.The special fleet test was executed. The experimental fleet was consisted of six vehicles which met the standards of EU-III. Under the condition of the identical octane number, the fuel added MMT in a concentration of 0.0131g/L (Mn) was used on three vehicles, compared with the other three vehicles using clear fuel.
