As a result of the combination of computer technology and instrument technology, Virtual Instrumentation technology has broken through old concept of instrument and will become artery of measuring system. The future of virtual instrument have to bond to related IT technology, just like the presence and development of the computer technology increases the invention and application of virtual technology, which exploded a technical revolution in the measuring technology area.Traditional mechanical measuring technology is stepping into rapidity, automatization, intelligentization and integration. So the research and development for the automatic measuring and analyzing system, which is based on the virtual instrument technology and applied in the engineering area, are increasing sharply. According to this situation, this thesis does some research work about the developing thinking, developing solutions and developing process of the automatic measuring and analyzing system based on the virtual instrument technology on the software platform, LabVIEW. This thesis presents a set of schemes for the virtual instrument construction, which is based on the multi-function data-acquisition card and graphic programming language LabVIEW: to build the program with a top-to-bottom structure, which divides the system into several independent function modules and designs a independent sub-VI for each single module, when the superior module calls a certain sub-module, then run the sub-VI related to the sub-module, in order to carry out the module's function.This thesis illustrates the thinking and process of the design for the function modules in the hardware system and the software system specificly with the example, the development process of a measuring and analyzing system for virtual vibration. The following contents are illustrating particularly: the way for driving the general data-acquisition card with LabVlEW, illustrating the design think and the solutions for the signal generating module and the timing analyzing module, and the examination application to test the system.Additionally, this thesis analyzes the developing direction for the virtual instrument technology; which consists of the following: working in network, integration, constructing the virtual measuring system groups based on the LAN and Internet; improving the function of data sharing and transfer in network, and the function of remote measurement and control. Virtual instrument will replace the traditional devices gradually in the future, and the measurement revolution will become reality throughly.
